Wilson-Groom Updates Farm Automation and Feed Mill Management

The idea of a highly automated system existing in a rural setting such as a small, independently owned farm may seem incongruous, but in order to keep up with large-scale commercial agriculture, many small farms are turning to automation to keep their operations efficient and competitive. A Better SCADA System for Textile Machines Helps The Turkish Textile Industry Stay Competitive

The dying and knitting of yarn for textiles is a process that has existed for thousands of years. This process has long been machine automated, but with advanced SCADA software that provides an intuitive development environment for robust monitoring and data acquisition applications, it’s possible to follow that process through every step from raw material to finished product. Using a SCADA system that gathers data from multiple textile stenter machines, Ekoten Textile, located in Izmir, Turkey, is able to record and compile data from every stage of their textile production process. With this data, Ekoten Textile can compare everything from output by machine, to the quality of the finished product.

Dostoevsky wrote in his literary work Crime and Punishment that “The degree of civilization in a society is revealed by entering its prisons."

Indeed, while most people agree that prisons are necessary, most people also believe that prison inmates should be treated humanely. What’s not been considered until recently is how technology can assist in the mission of most detention centers: to safely secure individuals having been sentenced by the state to a prison term.
