OEE and KPI reports are a Cinch with InduSoft Web Studio

SCADA software

SCADA software

One of the important functionalities users are requesting of HMI and SCADA software applications is the ability to get quick, easily readable, and convenient reports on Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI). InduSoft Web Studio is a powerful SCADA HMI software package capable of generating and sending OEE and KPI reports to a variety of devices and thin clients for quick assessment of the data. IWS can also connect to SQL databases through patented technology to store and retrieve data.

Integrating OEE and KPI Dashboards Into Your Process

Many HMI and SCADA applications do not include an OEE solution because it may take some additional work to set up, but the benefits are well worth it. OEE reports can help operators see what speeds and equipment variables are best for output, and plant managers can use OEE and KPIs to determine which operators need more training, or which shifts are the most efficient. Machines can also be monitored for efficiency, which will help in providing maintenance in a timely fashion for lagging machines. For a machine to have a full OEE solution, often additional SCADA integration services are needed. Sensors may be easily added to a machine, and from there, as few as 30-40 hours of certified system integration are often sufficient to employ a full OEE solution.

What to do With the Data

Once your process is set up to receive and prepare data from an OEE solution in your InduSoft Web Studio SCADA software application, this data can be viewed in a multitude of ways. Send it to an SQL database, or use the web thin client to view the data on a web browser. Send reports directly to a smartphone using the SMA (studio mobile access) thin client, or send the information from a local server to another station over Ethernet. Reports can then be managed in order to give operators key information on how to improve the efficiency of their projects by making small adjustments to key functions.
