For those still running systems on Windows XP operating systems, now might be a good time to plan for a system upgrade. Microsoft has announced that it will end updates and support for Windows XP on April 8, 2014. It’s important to consider the fact that systems based on Windows XP may become vulnerable to security issues once support for this operating system concludes. InduSoft recommends that users still working with Windows XP upgrade to Windows 7 or higher.
Due to this termination of support from Microsoft, US-CERT also recommends that those who do not upgrade from Windows XP should not use Internet Explorer. Because security updates to the Internet Explorer browser are tied to operating system, users on XP will not receive security patches to this browser, and may also be vulnerable to additional security concerns.
If you are running an InduSoft Web Studio application in Windows XP, not only will InduSoft continue to support you, but it’s easy to migrate your system. InduSoft supports every currently supported Windows operating system, and applications will migrate seamlessly to other Microsoft operating systems, including Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Embedded, and Windows Server editions.
