InduSoft Web Studio Symbol of the Week – Stoplight Indicators

InduSoft is always busy improving the tools that make developing applications easier and quicker, and we want to share our efforts with you! We’re working on creating one new symbol each week that you can employ in your applications. Please feel free to modify and share these symbols, and tell us what you want to see! We’re always interested in hearing from you what symbols or symbol libraries you’re looking for.

Here’s this week’s symbol, stoplight indicators

Name: StoplightRG_01.sym, StoplightRG_02.sym, StoplightRYG_01.sym, StoplightRYG_02.sym

Custom Properties: GreenTag, RedTag, YellowTag

Description: This symbol set has 4 different indicators, 2 with Red and Green only and 2 with the addition of a yellow “Lamp”. Each lamp can be independently controlled so it is up to the developer to set the tags so only one color is on at a time, or if they choose, multiple lamps can be lit simultaneously. Great for digital signage, production monitoring (ANDON), or pass/fail test systems.

  1. These symbols use the enhanced “Visibility” animation.
  2. These symbols were created primarily for use on a PC running on a desktop or server operating system, but with some slight modifications, can be made to look great on Embedded or even Mobile Access clients.

Ideas for improvement:

  1. Remove the gradients and visibility (transparency) for use on Embedded and/or Mobile access clients.
  2. Create a horizontal version.

Unzip and copy the .sym files into your Symbol folder of where InduSoft Web Studio is installed. This is usually “C:\Program Files (x86)\InduSoft Web Studio v7.1\Symbol” or similar. Either create a new folder or copy it into an existing one, such as “Indicators”.
