InduSoft Web Studio Symbol of the Week: Simple Minimal Symbols

These are minimal, simple, easy-to-understand symbols for InduSoft Web Studio SCADA/HMI software. For the bar graph and sliders there are 2 variations, with and without a scale. The clocks are 12 hour with AM/PM, and one displays the day of the week. The Push button is only momentary. You can change the on/off text (OnLabel/OffLabel) for the Push Button and Pilot Light.

We invite you to use these free symbols in your SCADA or HMI project to improve your applications.

Notes: For these symbols to work properly, you must set the Min value to the negative of the max value. For example, if the Max is 100, then Min should be set to -100, if the Max it 500, the Min should be set to -500.

Properties:
TagName
Label
Min
Max
Decimal (the number of decimal digits to display on bar graphs and sliders)
OnValue/OffValue
OnLabel/OffLabel

Ideas for improvement:

  1. Add different colors
  2. Create in different sizes

Here’s how to use this symbol:
Unzip and copy the .sym files into your Symbol folder of where InduSoft Web Studio is installed. This is usually “C:\Program Files (x86)\InduSoft Web Studio v8.1\Symbol” or similar. Either create a new folder or copy it into an existing one, such as “Minimal Symbols”.
