Thursday Podcast: Paulo Guerra on the InduSoft Educational Program

Today we’re speaking with Paulo Guerra, who helped develop the educational edition of InduSoft Web Studio. Paulo graduated with a degree in Control Engineering in 2008 while working with system integrators with a big focus on software development for SCADA, HMI, and other proprietary systems. Paulo joined InduSoft in Brazil in 2010, working with support, QA, and the consulting services team. Paulo created the InduSoft Web Studio educational program, and assisted in development of the InduSoft Web Studio Educational version of the product. He transferred to the USA in 2013, and has worked with the consulting services team to specify, manage, and develop SCADA/HMI templates for wide array of industries. New InduSoft Student Work: Operation and Online Monitoring of an Exploration Vehicle using InduSoft Web Studio SCADA Software

This project was developed by students at the University of Technology of Pereira Colombia, as a part of their curriculum in the Mechatronic Engineering Program. This project is an integration of different disciplines, including programming, electronics, microcontrollers, communication networks and SCADA systems. InduSoft adds new Educational Partner, Bakersfield College in California

InduSoft has added Bakersfield College to the list of InduSoft Educational Partners. Bakersfield College will be using InduSoft Web Studio in classes during the Fall 2014 semester to teach a curriculum including networking and HMI. The instructor, Manuel Fernandez, Associate Professor Electronics, also teaches numerous PLC courses. According to Manuel, “I plan on requiring students to build software representations of their trainers and then tie those to tags to be controlled and monitored remotely using InduSoft Web Studio.” Continue reading

Plastic Injection Machine from the Mechanics Laboratory in the Technological University of Pereira Runs on InduSoft Web Studio

The mechanics laboratory in the Technological University of Pereira has developed a new project using the educational version of InduSoft Web Studio. This project makes use of InduSoft Web Studio on a plastic injection machine, with different architectures for electronic hardware running in parallel to the devices already installed on the machine. InduSoft Educational Partner Spotlight: Satakunta University of Applied Sciences in Finland

InduSoft Educational partner, Satakunta University of Applied Sciences in Finland, has recently entered an agreement with InduSoft to use the educational SCADA software in projects developed by students at the university. Their current project is a control system that uses Beckhoff’s Twincat 3 soft plc. They are developing Java based software which is connected to all the building control systems. InduSoft Web Studio Educational Version Offers SCADA Platform to Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira, Colombia

Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira in Colombia has been awarded Educational licenses for InduSoft Web Studio SCADA software for use in their Ingeniería en Mecatrónica” (Mechatronic Engineering) program. The program serves close to 600 students and has three courses that offer practical training in various specialties in Industrial Automation: Industrial Automation, Industrial Network Communications, and SCADA.
